Leopold Classic Library is delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive collection. As part of our on-going commitment to delivering value to the reader, we have also provided you with a link to a website, where you may download a digital version of this work for free. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. Whilst the books in this collection have not been hand curated, an aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature. As a result of this book being first published many decades ago, it may have occasional imperfections. These imperfections may include poor picture quality, blurred or missing text. While some of these imperfections may have appeared in the original work, others may have resulted from the scanning process that has been applied. However, our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. While some publishers have applied optical character recognition (OCR), this approach has its own drawbacks, which include formatting errors, misspelt words, or the presence of inappropriate characters. Our philosophy has been guided by a desire to provide the reader with an experience that is as close as possible to ownership of the original work. We hope that you will enjoy this wonderful classic book, and that the occasional imperfection that it might contain will not detract from the experience.

The Radio Boys Trailing a Voice; Or Solving a Wireless Mystery Allen Chapman Books

Dated but gives insight to the earliest days of radio which was as exciting to young boys and girls as internet and space are today. The forward was wtitten by a famous and young hero ship operator , Jack Binns, who stayed at the key of the radio on the British ship Republic to the last possible moment and saved many lives by calling for help. Crystal sets, spark transmitters, and the new sensation of the radio vacuum tube were the norm and every year saw new breakthroughs. AM broadcast was in its infancy and seemed like a miracle to many. There are social issues that may seem odd today but that also gives the reader a glimpse of life in middle class life 95 years ago which would have seemed normal to your grandfather. My reading of these stories written just after WW1, inspired me to pursue a lifetime career and hobby of radio. That I have been a technician, systems enginner, military signals officer, world travelor and auther of a numbrr of books, artivles and short stories I attribute to reading this series, given me by an uncle 30 years after they had been written. 73 CW4 Karl Schulte US Army Signal Corps ( ret).

The Radio Boys Trailing a Voice; Or Solving a Wireless Mystery Allen Chapman Books Reviews

which is old, maybe ancient, it's very well written. It's juvenile fiction of another age. Published in the 1920's, I can imagine that my father may have read it. I love these books, but I'm not typical. These books were published at least 30 years before I was born.
The premise and story line is very dated. A trip back in time to a point when things were very different.
I enjoy the stories and the way the author uses the lads in the process of learning about radio. Thanks
easy reading for my grandchildren great buy with instant download much better than television we actually talk about the book
Tells it like it was in the early days of amateur radio. This book also shows how writing for young adults has deteriorated in the current years. The language is sophisticated but believable.
This is one of the first books I read as a young boy over 55 years ago.
I grew up on a farm in Iowa, and none of my relatives were particularly technical. I later became an Electrical Engineer, and when I was approaching retirement, I remembered this book fondly as one of my first exposures to radio.
To my amazement, I found it on - as a KINDLE book, no less!

It was great, reading it again.
This series of books is an interesting insight into life for high school boys almost a century ago. It's interesting that the boys take care of things like bullying themselves and it's not a gigantic issue as it is today. It's also interesting to see just how much this new thing, radio, captures attention and interest of everyone, something we take for granted now. This series isn't for everyone. It won't have enough action and intrigue for some and it definitely won't have enough swearing for some. It illustrates the ability to conduct complete conversations without swearing. It's a great series though. I'll read the rest of them over time.
